Jay Peak To Improve Water Quality Before Further Development

Jay Peak plans to develop the West Bowl area, but before it does, the resort must submit a Water Quality Protection Plan that includes detailed scientific information to demonstrate whether the waters would be negatively affected.

Abigail (Abby) Provost is the new Derby Elementary School board director. She was elected at Town Meeting by Australian ballot by a wide margin, defeating longtime incumbent Daniel Kurzman.

Barton Bids Farewell To Longtime Moderator, And To Selectman

Tuesday night the voters of Barton passed both their select board and highway budgets with little discussion. But the retirement of two elected positions did receive recognition, as did some of the appropriations.
William May has been Barton’s town moderator for 38 years. This year he decided he would be stepping down.
