BFA tops Lake Region in Quite the Physical Contest

ORLEANS- In a bruising contest that saw both coaches get yellow cards, the Bullets defeated the Lake Region Rangers 3-1.
BFA went up two to nothing in the first half before Austin Roberge cut the deficit by one with a goal in the second.
But despite a ton of pressure and a lot of chances, the Rangers could not find the equalizer.
BFA would add another one late, as they picked up the win.

Jury Acquits Derick Niles Of Trespass, Disorderly Conduct

NEWPORT CITY – Derick Niles walked out of Orleans Superior Court Thursday after a jury found him not guilty of unlawful trespass to an occupied residence, unlawful trespass to land, and disorderly conduct.

NCU Field Hockey Hopes to Resume Play This Saturday

NEWPORT–If it seems like the North Country field hockey team has been strangely absent from these pages you would not be the only one.
It has been a long time since the Falcons have last played a game, and when they finally resume their schedule this Saturday against Spaulding it will be exactly two weeks to the day since their last game on September 13th when they defeated the Montpelier Solons 2-0 to get to 4-0 on the season.
What could be the reason for this?
Well technically it is a two-part answer
Did the Hand, Foot and Mouth disease play a roll in this situation?

AnC Bio Receives Act 250 Permit

The Newport Bio Medical Park called AnC Bio has cleared all hurdles and work will begin this fall on preparing the facility. The District 7 Environmental Commission issued a Land Use Permit Wednesday.

North Country Union Junior High School: State Pays Debt On Wood Chip Boiler

DERBY CENTER — A bond used for the installation of a wood chip furnace at North Country Union Junior High School is almost paid off. North Country Supervisory Union Business Manager Glenn Hankinson told the school board Tuesday the state made the final payment.

Church To Hold Prayer Vigil For Captured Pastor

DERBY – Local Christians will gather Friday at the Newport Church of God on the Crawford Road and will hold a community prayer vigil for Pastor Saeed Abedini of Boise, Idaho. Abedini has been in an Iranian prison because of his Christian Faith.
