VEC Outages Expected To Cost Upwards Of $3 Million

The winter storm that hit the Kingdom and most of Vermont hard last week left more than 36,000 Vermont Electric Cooperative members without electricity. Crews worked around the clock to restore power. Many were without power for days.

Third Period Surge Sends Falcons Past Cougars

JAY–After a shaky first two periods that saw them fall behind two to nothing, the North Country Falcons' girls hockey team rallied back in the third period to pick up a 3-2 over the Mount Mansfield Cougars on Monday night.
"When you are depending on four or five players you have to rope a dope sometimes and you can't skate up and down the ice every shift," said NCU coach Claude Paul.
