ACT 250 HEARING SET FOR LOUIS GARNEAU

November 14, 2012

DERBY — Louis Garneau is moving forward with construction of a new 60,040 square foot factory on the Derby Road, next to Interstate-91.
The Act 250 Board will hold a public hearing about the project at the Derby Town Office Dec. 5 at 6 p.m.
The project includes a manufacturing plant, offices, a warehouse, retail, loading docks and a 151-space parking lot.
"It's a good sized facility," said Derby Zoning Administrator Bob Kelley.
Louis Garneau started in Canada and opened an office in Newport City in 1989. It could employ about 120 employees. The estimated cost of the project is $7 million.
The company received its local permits last year.
