WESTMOREâThe Orleans Lions held their annual Horseshoe World Championships this past Saturday.
With sunny skies and temperatures hovering near ninety degrees, the event drew over 300 spectators throughout the day, and featured 80 participants battling for the chance to be labeled the World Champion.
Steve Cutting and Ben Baker were the best of the best at the competition and they took home the first place trophy.
âI just go out there to have fun,â said Baker, âI donât expect to win, but it is nice when it happens.â
The brother act of Troy and Corey Fortin were right behind them as they came in second.
Rob and Tom Vilet were the top father son team at the event as they took third place overall.
The prestigious âSkunkâ award, given each year to the first team to lose two, was won by Jim âMumblesâ Young and Nellie Stevens, who was filling in for Carey Hunter.
