Dunlavey Students Bring Their Best to Governor’s Cup

Eleven students from the Newport branch of Dunlavey’s Black Belt Academy recently competed at the Governor's Cup Tournament held March 10, 2012 in Milton. The students competed in patterns, board breaking, and sparring. Jonah Wheeler, age 11, was the Under 16 Red/Black Belt Grand Champion.
Dunlavey’s Black Belt Academy has locations in both Newport and Morrisville. The Newport Academy is in the same building as Awsom Gymnastics. Classes are offered Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons and evenings for all age levels from 4 to adult.

Kaden Dennis: Gold – Patterns, Bronze – Board Breaking, Silver – Sparring; Taran Geoffrey-Kimball – Gold- Patterns, Silver in Board breaking and Sparring; Tatum Geoffrey-Kimball – Bronze in Patterns and Board breaking, Silver- Sparring; Matthew Irish – Gold in Patterns and Sparring, Silver – Board Breaking; Jake Roberts – Bronze – Patterns and Sparring, Gold – Board breaking; Justina Roberge – Gold in Patterns, Board breaking and Sparring; Max Roberts – Gold in Patterns, Board breaking and Sparring; Sam Roberts – Gold in Patterns and Sparring, Silver in Board breaking; Wesley Shaw – Silver in Patterns, Gold in Board breaking; Jonah Wheeler – Gold in Patterns, Board breaking, Sparring, Grand Championship for Under 16 Red and Black Belts; Jed Wheeler – Gold in Patterns and Sparring, Silver in Board Breaking.
