NEWPORT–Over one month into the regular season, the North Country baseball Falcons finally played their second home game of the season on Saturday, and what a game it was.
Trailing for the majority of the contest, North Country saved their best work for the sixth inning, as they pounded out nine hits and scored ten runs en route to 12-9 victory over the Missisquoi Valley Union Thunderbirds.
"We have a lot of depth and I believe in using our guys and that when everybody gets to get in, that sometimes they are more involved and they are prepared to play and I think that makes a difference for these guys," said NCU coach Brian Bonvechio. "I can't say enough about the fact that we stayed with it, and when it finally happened, it was contagious and everybody hit that sixth inning."
