NORTHFIELD–Coach Jose´ Batista's prediction that Devinnie Davis and Crystal Moss were going to be impact players for the Falcons' girls soccer team came true as the duo each had two points to help lead North Country over Northfield 3-0.
"We looked very good. The girls came out hard, played well and we are very pleased with their effort," said Batista after the game.
In the first half North Country went up 1-0 on Davis' first varsity goal. Moss drew the assist on the tally.
Anna Bingham made it 2-0, with Davis getting the helper.
In the second half, North Country added a little more insurance when Lake Region transplant Brooke Breault, on a feed from Moss, picked up her first goal of the year to make it 3-0.
The Falcons used both Jenna Moss and Whitney Bernier in the nets, and the pair combined for two total saves to earn the shut-out.
Now the girls will travel to Jericho to take on MMU on Saturday as the opening half of a boys-girls soccer double-header.
Game time is 11:00.
