NEWPORT–The North Country boys tennis team welcomed in Spaulding for an eight game, pro set style doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon, and the Falcons scored two very one-sided 7-0, 7-1 wins over a depleted Crimson Tide squad.
"I thought we played as we should have," said NCU coach Gary Atchinson. "Spaulding does not have as strong of a team as they have had in the past and they were missing a few players. I thought it should be pretty much in our favor, and that is the way it it turned out. Sometimes if the level of competition is not up to your level it can pull you down, but I thought the boys did a good job keeping that level up there and their individual match scores indicated that they did that too."
