LYNDONVILLE - FEMA officials are again warning that time is quickly running out for interested individuals to file applications for emergency aid.
The Lyndonville office on Park Avenue, which serves Caledonia and Orleans counties, will close at 5 p.m. on Thursday.
After that, applicants will still be able to call the Help Line at 1-800-621-3362. The deadline for all applications is October 31st. FEMA urges people to apply soon.
So far, over 6,300 applications have been accepted statewide, of which 34 are in Orleans County. Orleans, Caledonia and Franklin counties had a total of 350 applicants who have been approved for aid.
FEMA has allocated $29 million in aid to Vermonters, $18 million of which was used for disaster housing assistance. The Small Business Association, according to FEMA, issued $18 million in low interest loans, $8.2 million of which were for private homes.
