ORLEANS–Already up six to two after three, the Lady Rangers exploded for seven runs in the fourth, en-route to an 18-3 win over the defending Division III champion Peoples Academy.
"This is the first time we have beaten Peoples in three years, and it is always nice to get a W against someone you haven't beat in a while" said LRU coach Matt Tinker.
Peoples used the three pitchers in the game, with Megan Lamare taking the loss.
Michelle Thibeault went the distance for the Lake Region, fanning 6 and walking just 1.
The win moves Lake Region to 3-2, and they are looking forward to a rematch with Danville at home on Thursday.
First pitch is slated for 4:30.
