ORLEANS-After a rough game on Saturday that saw Lyndon rack up 19 runs in the blistering heat on Lake Region, Lake Region returned the favor on Sunday, plating 19 runs of their own in a 19-9 five-inning ten-run ruled game three.
The boys in gray got things going early as Cole Azur drove in TJ Santaw and Liam Kennedy to give the visitors a 2-0 lead with one out in the first. Azur would come around and score on Brady Perron's single.
Lyndon would tally a run in the bottom of the frame, and it was 3-1 after one.
In the 2nd, the same three LR players would score again, and starting pitcher Noah Royer would hold Lyndon scoreless.
Business really picked up in the third for Lake Region.
Royer opened up the frame with a single, followed by a Caleb Lanoue double. Santaw drove in Royer, and Kennedy brought home Lanoue to make it 8-1.
Six more runs crossed the plate in the frame, and after three it was 14-1 in favor of Lake Region.
In the fourth, another five runs came home for Lake Region, and unless Lyndon started scoring some runs, the final score was going was in danger of being ridiculously one-sided.
In the bottom of the fourth, Lyndon plated seven runs to make it 19-8, then added one more in the bottom of the fifth, but it was not enough to keep the game going, and the ten-run was utilized.
Noah Royer would get the win, allowing one unearned run on three walks and one hit.
He fanned two in his three innings of work.
Braden McClure took the loss for Lyndon.
Next up for the boys is the State Tournament, which will take place in Brattleboro.
The boys will face the host team, Brattleboro, on Friday at 2:30.
