NEWPORT CITY - Everybody has a pair of shoes that either don't fit, are too worn out or are just plain too ugly to wear.
STOP! Before you throw them away, donate them.
Between Friday March 1 and Friday April 5, the North Country Union High School Interact Club will be collecting shoes of all shapes, sizes, types, and conditions to donate to Soles4Souls.
"We accept any and all shoes," said Elizabeth Kirk, director of communications for Soles4Souls. The shoes don't even have to be in pairs. "We do take singles, because we can match them up and sometimes they can be used in our microenterprise program."

For more of this story and where you can donate shoes, read Tuesday's edition of the Newport Daily Express for Feb. 26, 2013.
