NO SHERIFF IN TOWN

LOWELL – Some voters, unhappy that the appropriation for the Orleans County Sheriff's Department failed at Lowell's Town Meeting, are circulating a petition for reconsideration.
Town moderator and fire chief Alden Warner said the paper ballot failed by three votes, 59-56. Town officials recounted the votes to make sure they didn't make a mistake, he said.
