The North Country Falcons traveled to Warren, Vermont, as the tenth-ranked team to take on number seven-ranked Harwood.
Unfortunately, the match was held amidst controversy.
High school tennis is played on hard courts, yet the Falcons were forced to play on a very unfamiliar surface on three of the five courts, that surface being clay.
Harwood had hardcourt options they've used frequently this season yet insisted on putting us on clay. It seemed unsporting and unfair. It was all about the ‘equal playing field’ cliche.
Nonetheless, the boys tried to put this big disadvantage aside and they did their best to overcome the odds.
Losing 5-2, three of the matches lost could have easily gone the other way!
