North Country Track and Field Get Off to a Good Start at MMU

JERICHO–The North Country Track and field team traveled to Mount Mansfield Union on Friday for their first meet of the season and came home with positive results.
The girls’ squad took second place on the day earning 118 points, and the boys were in third with a score of 103.
"It was a good first meet for us. The freshman got to get their feet wet while the veterans were able to see some competition instead of just practicing," said coach Lonnie Wade.
In girls action Cara Worth took third in the 400, Haley-Jo Tetreault won the 800, Steph Watson was third in the 1500, Lindsay Cotnoir was first in the 300 hurdles while Amber Lampris-Tremba was third, Laura Smith was second in the long jump, and Jenna Moss took third in the discuss. The Falcon girls were second in both the 4x100 and 4x400, and won the 4x800.
On the boys side, Dylan Columbia won both the 100 and 200 meter dash, Connor Hogan was third in the 400, Pat Tetreault was third in the 800, Trevor Howell finished second in the 1500, Taylor Prue was third in the high jump, Jason Webster and Bubba Collins went 1,2 in the shot put, and Webster and Josh Brien went 1,3 in the discuss. The boys took second in the 4x100 and third in the 4x400.
Next up is a trip to St. Albans for an MVU hosted event on Wednesday
