North Country Wins a Close One Over Tide

April 28, 2011

Alana Perry battled hard on Wednesday, but lost 9-7 to Rosie Creis.

BARRE– Once again it came down to the number one doubles pair for the North Country girls tennis team.
With the rain having caused a delay in the action, the decision to go to the pro set format, which is a race to 8 games, was made.
Having already won in their number 1,2, and 3 singles matches, the Falcons needed just one more win to pick up the victory over Spaulding, and the duo did not disappoint.
Rosie Wheeler and Ariana Treadwell answered the bell, played well and came out on top over Faith Ahran and Lauren Singer by the score of 8-2.
Coach Marie George was pleased with her teams performance, especially that of Alana Perry who played well in defeat.
“She battled back nicely, being down 7-1, tying the set at 7 and forcing a tie-breaker,” said the coach.
