OEC Lightning Faces Stiff Competition at War at the Shore

NEW LONDON, CT-What started out on high noted ended with two straight defeats, as the OEC Lightning Junior Legion went 1-2 at the War at the Shore baseball tournament this past weekend.
Things got off to a good start as the Lightning opened up play with a 3-2 win. Colin Myrick and Shane Goodell alternated on the bump for the blue and white, and limited the CT Gamers to just two runs.
With the bases loaded and score knotted at 2-2, Ryan O'Donell's walk-off hit was the difference as the Lightning won the contest 3-2.
Things would go down hill from there, as they fell to Hartford 5-0 their next time out.
"We just could not put anything together," said coach Jay Gonyaw. "Hartford just pecked away each inning."
The team closed out their time in Connecticut with a 4-0 loss in their final contest
