OEC Lightning Faces Stiff Competition at War at the Shore

NEW LONDON, CT-What started out on high noted ended with two straight defeats, as the OEC Lightning Junior Legion went 1-2 at the War at the Shore baseball tournament this past weekend.Things got off to a good start as the Lightning opened up play with a 3-2 win. Colin Myrick and Shane Goodell alternated on the bump for the blue and white, and limited the CT Gamers to just two runs.With the bases loaded and score knotted at 2-2, Ryan O'Donell's walk-off hit was the difference as the Lightning won the contest 3-2.Things would go down hill from there, as they fell to Hartford 5-0 their next time out."We just could not put anything together," said coach Jay Gonyaw. "Hartford just pecked away each inning."The team closed out their time in Connecticut with a 4-0 loss in their final contest
