Rangers Win Wild Won 18-12 in Ten

HARDWICK-It took ten innings but the Lake Region boys finally finished off the Hazen Wildcats by a wide open 18-12 score. Deadlocked at ten, the Rangers exploded for eight runs in the top of the frame.
Taylor Swartz broke the deadlock with a single driving in Trevor Royer with the lead run. After loading the bases, Kyle Perry drove a double plating three more Rangers for a 14-10 lead. Three batters later Derik Messier crushed a long triple to right center with the bases reloaded stretching the lead to 17-10. Royer pounded a run scoring single for the eighth run of the inning. Hazen responded with two in the bottom of the frame before Lake Region shut the door for their seventh victory of the season against 6 defeats.
LRUHS had jumped to a 3-0 lead, but Hazen came back with four in the bottom of the second. The Rangers got up 8-5 after Tyler Jacobs got two home with a single. Tyler Breault drove in another with a run scoring shot. The Wildcats came right back again tying things at eight apiece.
After Lake Region forged ahead by two in the top of the seventh, Hazen rallied sending the game into extra frames. It stayed tied until the LR fireworks in the tenth.
