St. Johnsbury Edges Falcons Out in Low Scoring Affair

January 30, 2014

Kate Patenaude (33) weighs her options out on the wing during the Falcons game against St. Johnsbury

NEWPORT-The first time the North Country Falcons and the St. Johnsbury Hilltoppers met, it was a very one sided contest, with St. J winning 61-25.
In this game it was a much close affair, but sadly for the NCU crowd, North Country fell again, this time by the score of 38-18.
"The spread, what it was today compared to what it was our last outing was a positive," said NCU coach Christiane Brown. "We need to keep moving forward. You want to see growth out there from your players, and I am seeing some moments of greatness from girls on the team and I think it is important to discuss those because we are not always seeing it on the scoreboard."
The biggest factor in the game was the rebounding, as the Hilltoppers had a 40-18 advantage in the contest.
North Country was paced by Morgan Greene, who had 8 points.
St' J's Jordan Cady led all scorers with 13.
The Falcons will have a tough match on Saturday, as top ranked CVU comes to town for a 2:30 game.
The team will be having a bake sale to help raise funds for their annual fundraiser during the CVU contest, so come on out and help the kids raise some money for a worthy cause.
