TASTING CENTER HAS FINAL HEARING

NEWPORT CITY - The Northeast Kingdom Tasting Center continues to move forward. The tasting center will be on Main Street and will be a combined food production, retail, and education center.
During the third and final required public hearing Monday, Mayor Paul Monette said the city received a $30,000 community development grant from the state.
Dave Snedeker, from the Northeastern Vermont Development Association, said the project received $5,000 in USDA technical assistance grant funds from Northern Investment Corporation and $5,000 in private business capital.
