ORLEANS–Tuesday's girls soccer match between Lake Region and Oxbow was a classic example of what can happen when you do not take advantage of your scoring opportunities.
Lake Region out-shot Oxbow 14-4, with several of the shots coming from prime scoring locations, but balls were either fired wide, or directly at Oxbow's netminder Meghan Williams, and the end result was a 2-1 win for the Olympians.
"You can not go into a game and not execute, and if you don't stick to your game plan you are going to have a hard time beating any team," said Lake Region coach Brad Urie. "We are a team that relies on speed and quickness and if you don't use it in the right spots... We need to work on communicating, and when we figure that out, we will be a great team."
