NEWPORT - The University of Vermont Extension Office in Newport has found a new home in a large historic building on Main Street in Newport. The office was formerly located in the old hospital located on Highland Avenue. That building is slated for an apartment development complex and current tenants are relocating.
The new office is located at 316 Main Street, formerly home to the Gilman Trust Housing office, just up School Street from Untied Christian Academy. “It’s great to be here,” said Karen Geraghty and Bill McMaster with UVM Extension about their new space in the restored building. “Now we can walk downtown from work and shop.”
