Weather Alert

Staff Writer

A weather system is expected to dump several inches of new snow in northern Vermont in the coming hours, and gusty, chilling winds are likely to follow, starting late tonight (Thursday) into Saturday morning. While VEC does not expect extensive electricity outages during this period, VEC is advising our members to be prepared in any case.
Because of the severe wind chills expected late tonight into Saturday, it may take line crews extra time to safely restore power in the event of outages. VEC suggests people be prepared by charging cell phones and having  flashlights/batteries, and plenty of dry, warm clothing and blankets available.
