So. BURLINGTONâAnna Bingham drove in 3 runs as the Falcons earned their 1st win of the season against Rice.
Taylor Blake got the win for 1-3 No. Country, striking out 9 batters in 7 innings of work.
The girls will look to make it 2 in a row when they travel to take on BFA St. Albans on Tuesday at 4:30.
Rice 15, NCU 0
So. BURLINGTONâRice's 20 hits were too much for the Falcons on Thursday, as they lost to move to 0-4 in 2013.
Wyatt Prue took the loss for NCU, while Will Conroy picked up the win for the Green Knights.
The boys will look to get their first win of the season when they travel to take on BFA St. Albans on Tuesday at 4:30.
Whitcomb 18, CA 3
WhitcombâCraftsbury Academy scored 3 runs in the top of the first, but Whitcomb scored 1 in the 1st, 5 in the 2nd, and 11 in the 3rd to pick up the one-sided win on Thursday.
Brandon Locke had 2 hits for Craftsbury in the loss.
Earlier in the week, the Chargers defeated Concord 22-4. Frank Spiese reached base 4 times in the game and scored 4 runs.
Brandon Locke earned the win, facing 23 batters, striking out 8 and walking 3.
CA will host Rochester on Tuesday at 4:30.
Spaulding 4, NCU 3
BARRE-The Falcons won the 1-3 singles matches, but the Crimson Tide swept the remaining 4 to get the win on Saturday.
âWe were hoping for a win, but they were a good team and we had to forfeit a match and had players playing out of position,â said coach Gary Atchinson. âOur missing players will be returning soon, and hopefully we can play a little better, especially in tight situations.â
Travers Parsons-Grayson, Thomas Durivage and Zach Tweed all picked up wins in the loss.
NCU was forced to forfeit the number 5 singles match due to the above mentioned player shortage.
The Falcons look to bounce back at home today against BFA St. Albans at 4:30.
