ORLEANS-A big third period laid the groundwork for the Hazen Wildcats 67-60 victory over the previously undefeated Lake Region Rangers Tuesday night. The Rangers had run off 14 wins in a row, including a nine point triumph against these same Wildcats in Hardwick three weeks ago.
Hazen was paced by Dimitri Vasiliadis with 21 combined with 12 rebounds. Adam Celley, Hazen’s other 6’3 forward, had 14 and 10 boards as their one–two punch gave the Rangers front court fits.
Drew Gallup had 15 in a strong effort with eleven boards and three blocks while running mate Caleb Prue finished with 14.
Beauregard and Provoncha had 11 each. Lake Region goes to 14-1 and will be at Winooski this Friday. Hazen ups their record to 7-7 on the year, in the middle of the pack in Division Three.
