JAY–the North Country-Colchester quarter-final game at the Ice Haus Arena was a place where hockey cliche´s went to die.
The two goal lead is the most dangerous lead in hockey, and it is hard to beat a team three times in a row, two of the most common phrases in the game, were both vanquished as the Falcons earned the 3-1 win.
North Country played a good chunk of the game up by two goals (that's one), defeated Colchester for the third straight time this year (that's two), and now have earned a date with South Burlington on Saturday afternoon.
Chris Bronson ended the game with twenty-two saves, while his counterpart Matt McBride had 15 for Colchester, who finishes the year with a 12-7-2 record.
15-5-1 North Country will now head over to the Cairns Arena on Saturday for a 4:00 showdown with top seeded South Burlington (19-2), hoping to recreate some of the magic that occurred last time these two teams met in the play-offs
