BARTON- A first walk through the 2014/15 budget projects a 2.99% increase, a number that satisfies Finance Committee Chair Mike Sanville. “The overall driver is salaries and benefits,” Sanville reported to the board. “The numbers are pretty solid, it's mostly minor (line item) adjustments.”
The estimated budget that will be presented to voters is $6,669,089, though Sanville did advise the board that there is some uncertainty over health care costs. “We budgeted for it, but it could blow us out of the water,” cautioned Sanville.
