Tweed, Medley Compete in Final Home Match at North Country

NEWPORT–The North Country Falcons were in action on Monday afternoon, hosting the Spaulding Crimson Tide in a match that had play-off implications.
Knowing that if they could pull out a win they would greatly increase their chances of securing a spot in the post-season, North Country went out, and on the strength of their singles play, won the match 4-3.North Country, originally slated to play on Tuesday at Harwood, will now play Wednesday, wrapping up their regular season.

Weather Curtails Girls Tennis Play

NEWPORT-Weather halted play early in the NCU-BFA girls tennis match on Wednesday.
The official scoring of the match has not been made available as of this time.

Hockey Falcons to Play 2 Games in Stanstead in 2013

NEWPORT–North Country Athletic Director Mike Kiser has reported that the North Country boys hockey team will play two games at the Pat Burns Memorial Arena at Stanstead College this season.
The games are slated for December 6th and 7th 2013.
As of right now the Falcons’ opponents have not been one hundred percent confirmed, but possible candidates include South Burlington and the Stanstead College junior varsity team.
Times for the games have not been released, but it looks like it could either be a Friday and Saturday night scenario, or a Friday night, Saturday afternoon schedule.

Prue’s Double Breaks up Colchester’s No-hit Bid

NEWPORT–The North Country Falcons played a much improved a game against Colchester on Tuesday, compared to their last outing against Milton, but they ran into a tough Laker pitching staff, led by starter Devon Dessormeau, who limited the Falcons to just one run on one hit and a walk in Colchester's 9-1 win.
Colchester is now 8-2 while North Country is 0-9.
The boys travel to take on Mte. Abe today, where Bryce Carter will make his first varsity start for North Country.
First pitch is at 4:30.
