On Saturday the Morgan Fish Hatchery swarmed with volunteers transporting carefully raised brook trout fry to beaver ponds throughout the Northeast Kingdom. The hatchery was resurrected in 1990 by volunteers who created the Vermont Fish and Wildlife Conservation Group. The original hatchery was in operation in 1932. By 9AM on Saturday morning 45,000 fry had been bagged and were in transit to their new homes. Read more about this program in the Newport Daily Express.
