Lake Region Enters the Holiday Break in Great Shape, Falcons Lose at MVU

ORLEANS–Drew Gallup had 16 points, and three other Rangers tied with 8 as Lake Region rolled over Peoples Academy 58-29 on Thursday.The boys set the stage early, outscoring the Wolves 19-2 in the first quarter.Gallup, Caleb Prue and Dennis Newland each had four points in the opening frame.From there the points kept on coming.Fourteen in the second, seventeen in the third, and finally eight in the fourth to wrap things up.Every member of the team, save for one got in the scorebook on Thursday, making the win a very dominating team effort.With the win, the boys stayed undefeated at 2-0, while PA moves to1-3.On Saturday, the team traveled to Hazen to take on the Wildcats where they picked up a 58-50 win, moving to 3-0 on the year.The boys will resume play on Thursday when they travel to Lamoille for their annual holiday tournament.MVU 77, No. Country 52In their much anticipated rematch, the Thunderbirds avenged their earlier loss, defeating the Falcons on their home court.Matthieu St. Amour had 44 point to lead all scorers.Kendrick Gray had 12 points, and Jesse Breault had 10 for the now 1-2 Falcons.Next up for the boys is a meeting with MMU at home on the 27th. Tip-off is at 5:30.Girls BasketballLake Region 47, Oxbow 34Tyrah Urie and Sarah Burnham each had thirteen points as the Lady Rangers moved to 3-0 this season.The game was close entering the final quarter, as just one point separated the two teams, but a twenty point outpouring in the fourth paved the way for the LR win.Burnham had seven points in the quarter, including two threes to lead the attack.The girls will host Lyndon on the 27th at 7:00.
