Newport City Council Reconsiders Eastside Water Tower Plans

The Newport City council is moving forward with engineering plans for the construction of a water tower on the east side of Newport located off Derby Road. Voters rejected a $2 million bond this past November but the council is reconsidering their stance. One of the objections to the original proposal is the location in Derby. Several Newport residents expressed dissatisfaction with the location preferring a Newport site. Read more in the Newport Daily Express.
